PC Players Not Happy With Monster Hunter Wilds’ Performance

Monster Hunter Wilds remains an unoptimized mess for PC players. Whether it’s assets loading in late, stuttering frame rates, sounds not playing when they should be, or just the game is outright crashing one thing is clear: nobody is happy with the game on PC.

To be clear, nobody is doubting that Monster Hunter Wilds is a good game. It just doesn’t have a very good PC experience. This has been very blatant since the beta’s release. Though things have improved since the beta, it has a long way to go before it becomes somewhat decent on our computers.

“You compare this game with Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, which released earlier in the month,” one Steam user notes in the Reviews section. “…and it leaves me feeling that this level of performance for a big release from a big company like Capcom is simply not acceptable.“

Capcom has acknowledged the issue however it’s rather backhanded. In the official Monster Hunter support page forums, the official response was to simply “update your graphics drivers” along with some extra trouble shooting steps. Rather than admit fault or let players know that they’re working on a patch, Capcom has instead stayed silent in regards to the PC performance of the newly release Wilds.

This is boggling since Worlds and Rise had little to no issues on its PC release. Though those title first released on different platforms before making their way to PC. This is the first Monster Hunter game to be released on this many platforms on day one. While there have been nothing but stellar reviews from PS5 and Xbox Series players, PC gamers are unfortunately left in the dust.

We don’t know if Capcom is addressing the issue at the moment, but considering the high amount of players on Steam alone—which is almost 1.4 million according to Steam Charts—it’s a safe bet that they’ll probably be addressing this in the near future. In the meantime, PlayStation and Xbox gamers are eating well.
